Today the whole country knows his name - Miguel became famous as a member of the jury and mentor of several seasons of the show "Dances", participant in musicals, choreographer of popular shows and clips, director of performances. Many are still convinced that he came to Russia from somewhere from abroad. In fact, at birth, he received the name Sergei, grew up in the Moscow region and was the same as most Soviet children. And Miguel is the real name of his father, whom he first saw only after 30 years, in the country where he could live himself. Fate did not spoil him, but it became an incentive to achieve what he has now.
From childhood he was accustomed to sidelong glances, offensive nicknames and whispers behind his back. Nobody believed that this dark-skinned guy was actually called Sergei Shesteperov. He got his last name from his mother, who raised him alone. His parents met when Cuban Miguel Fernando Chamblin Massa in the early 1980s. came to the USSR. He broke up with Tatyana Shesteperova when their son was 3 years old - he had to return to his homeland.
In her youth, Tatiana herself was engaged in dancing, but they remained an unrealizable dream for her. From the age of 5, she took Sergei to the Bolshoi Theater, and he knew his entire repertoire by heart. Since then, he became interested in music and dance, attended the Fouette ballet school for 3 years, however, then he dropped out of classes - he did not like classical dance. One of the main idols for him then was Michael Jackson, whom Sergei admired both as a singer and as a dancer. After leaving school, he entered the choreographic school, and then - the choreographic department of the Moscow State Institute of Culture.
The creative pseudonym Miguel - a nickname derived from the middle name Migelievich - appeared with Sergei at the very beginning of his dance career. It began in 1999 with participation in the musical Metro, in which he danced for 4 years. This project became the starting point in his professional biography. Later, Miguel took part in two more musicals - "Notre Dame de Paris" and "Romeo and Juliet".
Today, few probably remember that Miguel once tried his hand as a singer - in 2004 he took part in the sensational TV show "Star Factory-5" under the direction of Alla Pugacheva. He did not have outstanding vocal abilities, he impressed the jury, first of all, with his artistry, and he himself did not take this experiment seriously - rather, it helped to reveal another facet of his artistic nature and make acquaintances in the world of show business.
In the future, new acquaintances were very useful to him - they paid attention to the talented dancer, and he was able to reveal his creative potential as a choreographer-producer of various TV shows, festivals, circus shows, fashion shows, on the set of music videos and in theatrical performances in Russia and Ukraine. In just a few years, Miguel has become one of the most sought-after choreographers in the capital. The main dance event in the early 2010s. became the Ukrainian show "Maidan's", which got into the Guinness Book of Records as the largest and most massive dance project in the world. Miguel became his ideological inspirer, chief choreographer, music producer and jury member.
However, nationwide popularity and recognition came to him only in 2014, when Miguel became a member of the jury and mentor of the show "Dancing". From the very first season, the project was very popular with viewers. This year came the last, seventh season of the project. Miguel said about the secret of the success of "Dances": "". The popularity of the project really influenced the mass fascination of young people with modern dance, which contributed to the opening of dance schools throughout the country.
Miguel often appears on screens, willingly agrees to interviews, but the only topic that he does not comment on is his personal life. It is only known that he is not married and has no children. On this occasion, Miguel says: "".
In addition to dance performances, Miguel is now engaged in theatrical activities: he became a director, producer and choreographer of the immersive performances Returned and Faceless, and also works on the Letters promenade show, based on the diaries and letters of Franz Kafka, Paul Verlaine, Frida Kahlo, Fyodor Dostoevsky.
After he achieved recognition and success, Miguel decided to finally go to Cuba and meet with his father. The dancer at that time was over 30, his father - 70. Of course, they could no longer build close relationships, but since then they began to call each other more often. Miguel admits that he does not regret that he grew up in the village of Podrezkovo near Moscow, and not in his father's homeland. Although there he would not have stood out in any way among the locals and no one would have mocked him because of the color of his skin, Miguel is glad that his fate turned out that way - after all, in Russia he had to prove something to someone all his life., work hard, overcome obstacles, and as a result he was able to achieve what he has now. He says: "".
Nowadays, this art form has become one of the most popular: Magnificent choreography by the group "Zurcaroh".
