October is drawing to a close, which means Halloween is just around the corner. It's time to prepare costumes, think over party scenarios and, of course, practice carving lanterns from pumpkins. And you can learn this difficult lesson from Alexa Vera (Alex Wer) - he is a real master in this matter.
Alex Ver has always loved pumpkin carving, but basically all his work was limited to a few copies for the next Halloween - until two years ago his wife asked him to carve the logo of her company on a pumpkin. It was not difficult for the author to do this, and a little later it turned out that he already had about 35 such orders. Doing what you love and even getting paid for it - what could be better? Without thinking twice, Alex Ver organized an "orange empire" called "The Pumpkin Geek" and is now carving custom-made pumpkin lanterns.
In his work, the author uses a technique that he calls "four colors": the first is the complete removal of parts of the pumpkin, the second and third are two levels of depth in cutting the surface, the fourth is the untouched part. According to Alex, this style allows him to create very realistic images and amaze numerous clients.
It takes Alex 4-6 hours to create one image on a pumpkin, depending on the complexity of the task. But the author can cut almost anything on the orange surface! The most popular are portraits of celebrities, movie characters and company logos. In addition, you can bring your own photo to Alex - and the author will cut out an exclusive flashlight with a picture of you or your loved ones. The services of the author are not cheap: $ 90 and more, depending on the time spent, the size and complexity of the image, and other details.
Fun fact: Most people think that Alex Vera's favorite holiday is, without a doubt, Halloween. But no! In fact, the author prefers Christmas. You can get acquainted with the gallery of works by Alex Vera on the website www.thepumpkingeek.com
