October 1 was International Music Day, and October 4, the Day of the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, began World Space Week, which will last until October 10. We decided to combine musical and space holidays and prepared material about what kind of music the founder of practical cosmonautics Sergey Pavlovich Korolev liked. The motives from which operettas the academician sang during work, which records are stored in his closet and which musical instruments can be seen in the house of the chief designer, read in the material of "Culturology" and MOSGORTUR.
Did Korolyov love music? For anyone who crosses the threshold of the Moscow Designer House, where the museum is now located, the answer is obvious. In addition to the German piano, the house contains a radio tape recorder, a tape recorder and a radio gramophone - a rare Soviet music lover could boast of such a collection of equipment. The Queen's wife, Nina Ivanovna, also shared her love for music. She loved to play the piano and also enjoyed listening to recorded music.
According to Nina Ivanovna's recollections, the academician "listened willingly to classics, old romances and Russian folk songs." The chief designer especially respected chamber concerts, but Sergei Pavlovich did not like modern non-melodic music and did not approve of the "excessive antics" of the performers.
The scientist was very fond of "The First Concerto for Piano and Orchestra" by P. I. Tchaikovsky, especially performed by the American pianist Van Cliburn, recalled the daughter of the Queen, Natalia. Sometimes the academician enjoyed recording this concert in his living room. The chief designer also listened to "The Four Seasons" by P. I. Tchaikovsky, "Gypsy tunes" by the Spanish composer Pablo de Sarasate performed by the Soviet violinist David Oistrakh and "Requiem" by Mozart. However, the scientist's daughter thought that even at such moments, her father continued to think about business.
Among the favorite works of Sergei Pavlovich are also the romance "Burn, burn, my star", Ukrainian folk songs "I marvel at the sky" and "Roar that th stogne Dnipr wide", which reminded him of his childhood and youth, and Russian songs "Eh, roads”and“Sacred Baikal”.
Sometimes the Queen's spouses attended the conservatory, but this did not happen often. Nina Ivanovna mentioned several concerts, from which the academician was delighted. One of them was conducted by People's Artist of the USSR Boris Khaikin, the other - People's Artist of the USSR Natan Rakhlin, and performed by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Of the operetta music, the chief designer loved the works of the Hungarian composer Imre Kalman and the Soviet composer Isaac Dunaevsky - often while working, Sergei Pavlovich sang motives from their operettas.
In addition to the piano and musical equipment, more than a hundred vinyl records are kept in the house of Sergei Pavlovich. Among them are Boris Mokrousov's The Coveted Stone to verses by Alexander Zharov, Walzer in c-moll 7 by Frederic Chopin, Pas de Quatre by Lev Schwartz and Barcarolla by Ernesto Tagliaferi to lyrics by Boris Ronginsky and Anna Manuilova, and of course, so beloved by the academician "The First Concerto for Piano and Orchestra" P. I. Tchaikovsky.
Vinyl space
The Cosmonautics Museum decided to return musical traditions to the house of the chief designer. In July, the museum launched the Vinyl Space series of musical meetings, which take place on the terrace of the house. Meetings dedicated to David Bowie, The Beatles and 60s rock have already taken place here.
At musical evenings, visitors to the house can not only listen to the works of cult performers on a vinyl player and learn the history of their creation, but also feel the atmosphere of the 60s. A rich library, a fireplace, a book table, armchairs, red cups with white polka dots - all interior items convey the spirit of that time.

Psychologists told what kind of music different signs of the zodiac choose

Why did an Italian designer provocateur create a chair in the shape of a female body, and Why did he advocate "female thinking"
The armchair in the shape of a woman's body, created by Italian designer Gaetano Pesce, has been reproduced and copied hundreds of times, without thinking about the meaning of the designer himself. Brawler and provocateur, Pesce always knew how to tell sad stories in the most extravagant way, declared that "masculine thinking" is unacceptable in modern design, and architecture should be pleasant … to touch
What British princesses are prohibited from doing "in an interesting position": What gifts cannot be accepted, what music to listen to, etc
On June 4, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain once again became a grandmother. This time the granddaughter was presented to her by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex, as a member of the royal family, for nine months had not only to make adjustments to her behavior, but to follow some additional rules. Indeed, in addition to taking care of the baby's health, future mother-princesses must strictly observe long-standing traditions, and some of them do not fit very well with the concepts of modern motherhood
She did not promote the Germans, did not ruin Russia, did not leave the course of Peter: what is Anna Ioannovna accused of in vain?
Anna Ioannovna, niece of Peter the Great, went down in history with a terrible image. For what they just did not reproach the second ruling queen of Russia: for tyranny and ignorance, craving for luxury, indifference to state affairs and for the fact that the dominance of the Germans was in power. Anna Ioannovna had a lot of bad character, but the myth about her as an unsuccessful ruler who gave Russia to be torn apart by foreigners is very far from the real historical picture
Tsar's table: What kind of food did the Russian rulers prefer, and How did it differ from the peasant's
The rulers of Russia had a variety of culinary preferences. Someone preferred gourmet food, someone liked simple peasant food. Today, many would be surprised to learn what exactly was served on the royal table, and some dishes are firmly forgotten. Read what excesses the emperors allowed themselves, who was a great teetotaler, and to whom they brought vodka to dinner every day
