St. Petersburg is a city of romance, and, of course, it also has its own "mystical" places. Even some buildings of the northern capital have been endowed with unique properties by lovers of acceptance and belief. It is believed that these houses are capable of fulfilling any desire. The main thing is to know the correct addresses. And, of course, it is correct to perform such a ritual. There are many so-called happy houses in St. Petersburg. We will tell you about some of them.
House on Grazhdanskaya
This building at 27 Grazhdanskaya Street was built at the beginning of the last century and in the first years of its existence earned the fame of a house that brings good luck. Even now, in the 21st century, there are those who believe in its magical properties.
There are several versions as to what ritual needs to be performed in order for the house to "fulfill the wish". According to one, you need to sit for some time in a cafe located in this building. According to another - to lean against the wall of the house or at least touch it with your hands, according to the third - just stand near the building and concentrate. However, all who believe in the miraculous power of this place agree on one thing: the house fulfills the desires of only those people whose thoughts are pure. You can read more about this building here.
Interestingly, foreigners are quite frequent guests here. They say that one of the Western newspapers published an article that this house in St. Petersburg is capable of fulfilling any desire and, perhaps, thanks to this publication, the building on Grazhdanskaya Street gained fame outside of Russia.
Griffin Tower on Vasilievsky Island
An unusual brick building is located on the 7th line of Vasilievsky Island, in the courtyard of building 16, where the oldest St. Petersburg pharmacy operates.
In fact, the notorious "tower" is just a remnant of a hefty boiler-house pipe, built inside the courtyard and outwardly very similar to the castle tower. Before the revolution, its owner was Wilhelm Pel - the owner of a pharmacy known throughout Russia, a legendary pharmacist.
The tower appeared in this place during the restructuring of his pharmacy by Pelem at the end of the nineteenth century. The building is over ten meters high and two meters in diameter. If in the building of the pharmacist there was a tenement house and a pharmacy, then the pipe played the role of an exhaust for the laboratory for the manufacture of medicines.
About Pel himself, mysterious legends have always circulated in the city - for example, that his secrets were guarded by griffins. So it is not surprising that this tower, according to rumors, has miraculous properties and is capable of changing destinies. There is an opinion that living in neighboring houses is a great success. They say that everyone who settles next to them very quickly becomes rich and successful. Lovers of mysticism even believe that this area is still guarded by the invisible griffins of the apothecary Pel.
By the way, numbers were painted on the bricks of this tower, in which, according to rumors, they allegedly encrypted a certain secret code, but then they disappeared. However, locals now and then put new numbers on the tower.
It is believed that making wishes near the tower is only necessary for oneself and they must be absolutely kind. Only under these conditions will a brick building "fulfill the request."
Two houses on Malaya Sadovaya
Two more houses, near which wishes come true, can be seen on Malaya Sadovaya Street. Here, right on the facades of buildings, at a high altitude, there are monuments to the cat Elisha and the cat Vasilisa. The cat decorates the building of the Eliseevsky store (house 8), and the cat decorates the facade of the house opposite (Malaya Sadovaya, 3).
Near these two "happy" houses on Malaya Sadovaya you can often see tourists who make wishes and toss up coins. Popular belief says: if a person manages to throw a coin on a pedestal on which a figurine of a cat or a cat is located, his plan will certainly come true.
House-ring on the Fontanka
Already in itself, this old house with a "hole" inside is a unique building. After all, when viewed from above, it resembles a donut. This is one of the oldest buildings in St. Petersburg and the very first round house erected in the northern capital.
But in addition to the architectural uniqueness of this building, it is believed that you can make wishes inside the ring house. If you say your request, standing in his round courtyard and looking at the sky, the house will certainly fulfill it.
House with a rotunda on Gorokhovaya
On Gorokhovaya Street, inside house 4, in the front door, you can see six columns, which are located in a circle and are decorated with a dome on top. Outwardly, it looks like a rotunda.
It is believed that the building, which was originally built almost two hundred years ago, contains some kind of mystery and is associated with the occult and secret societies. It is believed that in St. Petersburg there are five more rotundas of the same kind hidden in buildings, and together they form a pentagram, and the rotunda of the front door on Gorokhovaya is located in the very center of this mystical figure.
In Soviet times, representatives of the underground loved to gather here. Now it is better known as a wish-fulfilling place. There are all sorts of other rumors and beliefs about the rotunda, but they are darker. It is much more pleasant to believe in the positive properties of this house.
