Video: How Hitler was engaged in mysticism, and who is "Himmler's personal Rasputin"

In the 1930s, an unusual society "Ahnenerbe" became famous in Germany, patronized by Heinrich Himmler himself. The Reichsfuehrer SS wards studied the traditions and historical heritage of the pure Nordic race. The activities of the organization were in demand, since the fascism cultivated in the country quickly needed its own ideology and mythology. At first, Hitler was dissatisfied with the direction of the work of "Ahnenerbe" and even attempted its existence. However, the patron saint Himmler adjusted the methods of society in such a way that at the Nuremberg Trials the leaders of the seemingly scientific institute were sentenced to capital punishment.
History of the creation of the society and high-ranking founders
The first director of "Ahnenerbe" was the mystic and ethnologist Herman Wirth. The management specialization spoke for itself. The scientific and ideological society carried out multidirectional work. Historians drew bold conclusions from the many surviving documents that the organization took as a basis the experience of the mystical associations of the past. Echoing the National Socialist ideology, they supported the doctrine of the existence of a vanished island in prehistoric times. The ancient civilization inhabiting it, possessing universal secrets, allegedly died due to a large-scale catastrophe. And the few who survived mixed with the Aryans, as a result of which a race of supermen - Germanic ancestors was formed.
For the practical proof of such a theory, the Nazi scientists undertook, looking around the world for ancient manuscripts, manuscripts and any clues in world history, magic, and theology. "Ahnenerbe" collected all the detailed information about the Aryans from Tibet to Antarctica. The seat of the historical and educational department of the society was located in the small Bavarian town of Weischenfeld. In addition to SS Reichsfuehrer Himmler, the Ahnenerbe was supported by SS Gruppenfuehrer Hermann Wirth and racologist Richard Walter Dare.
Occult Research and Mein Kampf instead of the Bible
By 1945, Ahnenerbe had about fifty departments and sub-departments dealing with neighboring states: Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands. With German pedantry, the "Ahnenerbe" divided the work on various vectors: the search for a historical and mythological platform, the creation of a superhuman race, medical research, the development of unconventional types of weapons (including mass destruction), religious and mystical practices, and even the search for highly developed alien civilizations.
So, the Nazis developed Fau rockets, and came up with ways to launch them into space. There was also the intricate project "Aldebaran", for which Standartenführer von Braun was responsible. After a while, it was he who worked in the United States on a flight to the moon (according to the Americans). Perhaps the most mysterious figure in the Ahnenerbe was Karl-Maria Willigut. He did not hide his passion for "black" magic, and for his powerful influence on the representatives of the Nazi elite he was even nicknamed "Himmler's Rasputin".
In "Ahnenerbe", following the example of selected SS units, tall, muscular blondes of 25-30 years old were employed. The marriage was allowed to them exceptionally pure in a racial context, which required documentary confirmation of the origin of the newlyweds. At the ceremony of baptism, babies were named in front of a portrait of Adolf Hitler, his brainchild "Mein Kampf" and a swastika. This strategy was a consequence of the fact that representatives of the Hitlerite elite sought to squeeze Catholicism out of Germany, replacing it with blind worship of the Fuhrer.
Scientific expeditions and assistance to the front
The Ahnenerbe excavation departments carried out classical archeology. The Nazis were active in different parts of Europe, including the Crimea. These studies performed one main task: to historically justify the German presence in the occupied territories and to prove the superiority of the Aryans. Over the years of its existence, scientists from "Ahnenerbe" have made up to a dozen long-distance expeditions to Karelia, Scandinavia, Tibet, Iceland, Afghanistan. With the outbreak of World War II, this activity curtailed, and the forces of society went to help the front. One of the developments of the military department was an "electric cannon" designed to accumulate lightning energy with the subsequent disabling of enemy electrical equipment. There were also attempts to counteract radio interceptions with the help of the Ahnenerbe telepaths. However, this practice is unlikely to bring tangible benefits to the Germans.
Still, some of the results of the secret society were of interest not only to the Nazis. After the war, the participants in SMERSH found in the records of the German Colonel Wilhelm Wolf information about the dispatch of special forces to Antarctica. This expedition interested Stalin, who gave the order to the General of the Navy Nikolai Kuznetsov to set off on the German tracks. The results of this expedition were classified, but some historians claim that Nazi military bases were found.
Inhuman experiences and Nürngberg
By the 1940s, Himmler had joined the Ahnenerbe to the elite militarized National Socialist organization Schutzstaffel, which served Hitler as an instrument of repression. Since 1934, the SS has been involved in the operation and management of concentration and death camps, participated in the Holocaust and all genocidal processes. "Ahnenerbe", in fact, provided full carte blanche to carry out "medical" experiments on living people. Among the main programs - the study of the effect of poisons, the impact on the body of extremely high and low temperatures, pain thresholds. Psychological and psychotropic effects were studied, work was carried out to create a massive superweapon.
Already at the Nuremberg trials, Wolfram Sievers, one of the leaders of the "Ahnenerbe", told how he personally authorized experiments on people. By the way, for this he was sentenced to death in the company with colleagues. According to him, experiments on finding a person in a rarefied atmosphere with hypothermia were carried out for the skill of returning the Luftwaffe to life. There were many facts of inhuman crimes of an experimental nature, and the members of the "Ahnenerbe" committed them under the most severe highly scientific aegis.
In addition to flirting with the occult, the Nazis tried to breed the ideal breed of Aryan children. And even tried to remake Soviet children into German ones.
