The only concert of the famous baritone Dmitry Hvorostovsky took place in Krasnoyarsk. The artist walked onto the stage of the Great Concert Hall limping and with his hand tied. It was obvious that it was difficult for him to move. Every time he went on stage, the audience in the hall stood up.
Hvorostovsky's concert in his native Krasnoyarsk was postponed several times for health reasons of the artist back in 2015. Then he himself said that he was suffering from a brain tumor. Just a few days before the concert, he fell and dislocated his shoulder. But even the injury did not prevent him from coming to his hometown with a single concert.
At the concert Hvorostovsky performed Aleko's cavatina from Rachmaninoff's opera, the Demon's aria from Rubinstein's opera and the famous novel "Black Eyes"., - said the artist, addressing the audience. During his concert, he repeatedly put his hand to his heart, as if making it clear that this performance is very important to him.
Vadim Vostrov, a journalist of the TVK-6 channel, left the following entry on his Facebook page: “The media will not write the truth about Hvorostovsky's yesterday's concert for ethical reasons. And, probably, they will do the right thing. And I will write because I consider it important to say this. He came out again and again, smiled and took young performers on the stage, joked and supported them as best he could. At the end of the concert, it became clear what it cost him. “I had to go back. Because I love you, because this is my hometown,”said Dmitry and burst into tears. He could not go out for an encore. The only time in his career when this was not necessary. He did more at the concert than he could.
I felt ashamed of my thoughts, of my audience egoism at the beginning. And I also realized what Hvorostovsky does not need. He certainly does not need to be reassured on duty; he understands everything and will fight. He said, "Goodbye!" - and once again repeated: "Goodbye!". And I know that he will try, not for us to teach him courage. And we will pray for him. We love you very much, Dmitry. Come back!"
And for fans of Dmitry Hvorostovsky's talent one of the most famous romances performed by him.
