Video: 10 best sci-fi movies that made a splash

The science fiction genre is one of the most popular in cinematography. And it is not surprising, because it is so interesting to plunge into the world created by the scriptwriter's fantasy and see what our reality could be if life on Earth were a little different. We have prepared for you a dozen of science fiction films, which not only have interesting and exciting worlds, but also a very unusual, fascinating plot.
1. Blade Runner, 1982
In his book, Philip K. Dick touched on the most exciting topic: what makes a person a person in fact. But this question was much better outlined in the adaptation of Ridley Scott.
Blade Runner is one of the most exciting science fiction stories with a plot that was far from commonplace at the time. The film follows Roy Batty, the leader of the red humanoid replicants hunted by detective Rick Deckard. Replicants were capable of feeling emotions and were also the next stage in human evolution.
They looked and behaved humanly because in essence they were human. And yet they were treated like slaves, forced to do dirty work or backbreaking work. The need to break free and live your life is not just right, it is necessary. That is why, one fine day, the cyborgs escaped from the space colony to Earth in order to feel free.
2. Matrix and Matrix: Revolution
The "Matrix" and its fantastic universe beyond reality focuses on how people, having created high and intelligent technologies, enslaved them, making machines their slaves.
In the end, the machines rebelled and created their own civilization, not subject to humans. This marked the beginning of a war that people lost, thereby destroying the ecosystem. Instead of destroying humanity like the Terminator, the machines showed mercy and allowed people to live in virtual reality, not unlike the world where humanity lived before the uprising of the machines.
3. Planet of the Apes: War
Despite what happened, McCullough understood the problem of people who accidentally brought death upon themselves, but wanted to preserve what was left of the human race, and with it their humanity. His methods and unwillingness to show mercy were wrong, but his dedication to the human race and the preservation of its heritage were not bad traits, making this character widely discussed and condemned on the Internet. The final part of the trilogy about "Planet of the Apes: War" is distinguished by a vivid plot and far from typical behavior of some characters.
4. Ghostbusters, 1984
Many people probably remember the classic film "Ghostbusters", which has gone through a number of different adaptations. And despite the fact that the modern version is not much different from the original 84, the plot of this picture is still quite unusual and quite exciting even today. After all, if the actions of the picture are transferred into reality, then humanity will surely face another, albeit not the most global, but still a problem that only professionals can eliminate.
5. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
The Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith franchise has a lot to think about. This fantastic saga strikes with the brightness and originality of the storyline, which is intriguing from the very first minutes. The act of Anakin Skywalker when he went over to the evil side, becoming Darth Vader, confuses many viewers, causing a lot of questions.
However, all the reasons for his departure were compelling. For starters, the Jedi Order asks all members of society to get rid of emotions and attitudes, which is very strange even for such a powerful organization. There is nothing wrong with emotions as long as they are balanced. After all, any suppression is not a balancing act, but an attempt to subjugate yourself completely. Likewise, the Jedi Council despised and haughtily distrusted Anakin, despite being the biggest hero of the Clone Wars.
He was so afraid of the Council that he could not be frank and honest with them, and fear led him to the dark side. Anakin could not be frank with Yoda, the wisest Jedi, and he could not be frank with Obi-Wan, his best friend and mentor, who, following the Order's code, gradually moved away from the boy, instead of paternally substituting a friendly shoulder and help curb mental anguish. Outcast, obsessed with his own ideas and an eternal desire for freedom, he chose the dark side, becoming the main leader of the Sith.
6. Remember everything
Many people probably remember the movie "Total Recall", where Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a hard worker whose life is so boring that, in despair, he turns to an organization that can give a new life with the help of a chip. But soon the protagonist learns that in fact he is a secret agent who has become a threat to the government, so it was decided to create a calmer and unremarkable reality for Doug. But once Quaid realizes his true identity, he travels to Mars to piece together the rest of his identity, as well as find the person responsible for his implanted memory.
Verhoeven has created a great sci-fi action movie packed with impressive stunts and (literally) stunning visuals. Although the film bears only a passing resemblance to the story of Philip K. Dick, on which it was based ("We Will Remind You Everything"), it is a gripping story with fast-paced events that leave behind the brightest impressions and a lot of questions, and who is on Was Doug Quaid Really?
7. Jurassic Park
Steven Spielberg's phenomenally successful sci-fi adventure thriller is what has been a classic of the genre for years. Jurassic Park is a unique opportunity to plunge headlong into an interesting and dynamically developing storyline.
On the shores of Costa Rica, there is a park inhabited by living dinosaurs, created from the DNA of prehistoric insects. And all would be fine, but one fine day, when a group of people, accompanied by scientists, goes on a tour of the park, a tropical storm suddenly hitting the island knocks out the power source, and an unscrupulous and disadvantaged employee, sabotaging the security system, steals a couple of embryos in an attempt to secretly take out them from the island. Brachiosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptors and Tyrannosaurus Rex spiral out of control and a real survival show begins in Jurassic Park.
8. I am a legend
The former humans who turned into pseudovampire mutants in I Am Legend represent the new dominant species of the planet, and it is Robert Neville, one of the last survivors, who is a strange man. During the day, he is a hunter, chasing sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilization, and at night he barricades himself in his house and prays for dawn …
9. Strangers
High-budget special effects, fast paced action and a breathtaking storyline from writers / directors Ridley Scott and James Cameron turned the films "Alien" and "Aliens" into Oscar-winning blockbusters, which not many have managed to surpass even today.
The idea, born of the talented Ridley, kept the viewer in suspense at the TV screens for several decades, making them jerk nervously from every rustle behind their backs. And the xenomorphs, who seized a spaceship with a crew, did catch up with fear just by their appearance, arousing genuine interest, forcing them to think about life on other planets.
10. Chimera
The game of God does not bode well for scientists in the science fiction Chimera, where two laboratory workers decide to try experimenting with a new life form, creating it in secret from their superiors and beyond. Over time, the experiment shifts from trying to create a successful embryo to creating a new organism, nicknamed Dren, and all this is also kept in strict secrecy. Then a conflict occurs between the creators and Dren, and each time, trying to justify and protect their offspring, the spouses-scientists more and more come to a dead end. As a result, they do not make an easy decision, and even then luck turns away from them, leaving behind a series of inevitable and disastrous consequences.
