Origami - ancient Japanese art, which has been actively talked about in our country in recent years. Not only children, but also adults strive to master the skill of creating various figures from whole sheets of paper. For some it is innocent fun, for others it is a process of creative self-expression. For example, for Sergei Tarasov, A 42-year-old teacher from the village of Tigritskoye (Minusinsky District, Krasnoyarsk Region), modular origami is a vocation. He recently completed layout of St. Basil's Cathedral, it took over 10,000 sheets of A4 paper.
An amazing layout of one of the most beautiful churches in the world was presented at the Rus Craftsman festival dedicated to the talent of Russian artisan teachers. The dimensions of the cathedral are striking - it reaches 1.5 meters in height. Sergey Tarasov spent a year on its creation, having produced 60 thousand modular parts, which were later combined into a single ensemble.
Sergey Tarasov got carried away with the creation of sculptures from origami four years ago: initially he folded all kinds of animal figures (rabbits, roosters and even fantastic dragons) from paper, later he moved on to more complex forms - trains and buildings appeared in his collection. At the same time, the idea arose to create modular origami of famous buildings. In addition to the Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed, in the creative piggy bank of Sergei Tarasov there is a model of the Minusinsk Orthodox Holy Savior Church. The artist is not going to stop there, the origamist plans to create a model of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square!
By the way, Sergei Tarasov is happy to share the secrets of his skill with the younger generation. In addition to art lessons, at school he conducts an elective called "The Rainbow of Masters", where he teaches children not only to fold figures from sheets of paper, but also teaches the basics of weaving figures from beads and the art of wood carving.
