American journalist George Kennan went down in history not only as a traveler and author of books about Siberia, but also as a person who supported Russian revolutionaries. It was after his stories about the harsh conditions of detention of political prisoners in Siberia in the United States that a critical view of the Russian monarchy spread. Kennan initiated the creation of the American Society of Friends of Russian Freedom. In this review, you can see the Siberian photographs taken by Kennan in Sibihb at the end of the 19th century.
