On June 4, 1962, the first issue of the satirical newsreel "Fitil" was released on Soviet cinema screens. It was shown, as a rule, in cinemas before the start of the demonstration of the film. Each issue contained several miniatures exposing the shortcomings of Soviet life: bureaucrats, careerists, bribe-takers, bourgeoisie and scammers. Sergei Mikhalkov, who became the editor-in-chief of "Fitil", managed to turn serious problems into funny and funny ones. In just 45 years of the existence of the newsreel, 420 issues have appeared.
