Miguel Endara - a recognized artist who creates paintings in the technique of pointillism. "Spot" painting brought popularity to the talented Spaniard not only in his homeland, his works are known all over the world (on our website Kulturologiya.ru we have already written about his paintings). However, the real joy for Miguel is not the rays of glory, but the real help to the people around him. One of his works - portrait of Benjamin Kyle - an attempt to support a person who cannot be helped by the state.
The story of Benjamin Kyle is on the lips of Americans today. Eight years ago, a man who today bears the name Benjamin was found unconscious on the steps of a Burger King fast food in Richmond Hill, Georgia. The American could not remember what happened and how he ended up in this state. He had no personal belongings, there were severe burns on his body, and he also suffered from cataracts. At the hospital, the poor man was given the name Benjamin Kyle (those were the initials of the fast food restaurant where he was found), and since then he has not been able to remember anything about his past life.
All attempts to find Benjamin's loved ones were unsuccessful: his story was told in several popular talk shows, information about him was on the news, student-enthusiast John Wikstrom even made a documentary film “In Search of Benjamin”. Despite all the efforts, the man still has not found out who he really is. He is not even given a social security card, because (presumably) it could be registered in his real name, and without this document the poor man cannot get a job, open a bank account or get a credit card.
The documentary "In Search of Benjamin" was shown at the Tribeca Film Festival, then Miguel Endara learned about the difficult fate of an American who is missing. He decided to help him as much as possible, for this he drew a portrait of Benjamin from two million ink dots (it took 138 hours of painstaking work). Through his website, Endara sells copies of the portrait, giving half of the proceeds to a homeless man. In addition, the artist asks all buyers to sign a petition to the US government to issue Kyle a new social security document and equalize him in rights with the rest of American citizens. By the way, of the required 25 thousand signatures, 10 thousand have already been collected.

Paintings made from millions of ink dots. Pointillism by Miguel Endara
Spanish artist Miguel Endara certainly has the perseverance of a bronze statue, angelic patience and a whole car of free time. Otherwise, he would not have had a single chance to succeed in such a complex and painstaking work as drawing pictures from dots, using the pointillism technique. Every day he has to spend 6-8 hours, bending over a sheet of paper and squeezing an ink pen in his hand. The author's last project was a painting called Hero, a portrait of his own
