The game with light and shadow among designers and artists is one of the most beloved. One can only guess what secrets the shadows hide in themselves, and only the light directed at the object from the right side may not even reveal them, but only slightly open this veil of secrecy over them. One of the players of light and shadow is the talented sculptor J. V. Muntyan (J. V. Muntean), the author of amazing multifaceted sculptures made of wood.
It seems that we are not familiar with this kind of creativity yet. The author carves strange figures out of wood, which at first glance seem to be shapeless blocks … But this is for the time being. By directing light on these blocks at a certain angle, you can see this or that image: an animal, a person, a bird …
Sculptures by J. V. Munteans are called multifaceted for a reason. The fact is that several figures are hidden in one sculpture. So, the work called "Dancers" consists of three dancing figures, "Man Woman Heart", respectively, from the figures of a man, a woman and a heart, well, other works of the author are called by the same analogy. For convenience, each block is attached to a metal rod, for which they must be rotated to obtain various "shadow" images on a wall, table or other flat surface.
You can see the gallery of unusual multifaceted sculptures on the website of J. V. Muntean (J. V. Muntean).
