These watercolors seem to be created from the memories of the most beautiful, most romantic moments of life. Even those who have never been to Paris or Venice, respond vividly to the beauty of these paintings - such beauty is simply universal, it is magnificent in its purity and morning freshness of a new day that promises a good mood.
Thierry Duval (Thierry Duval), now an illustrator for a large advertising agency in Paris, began painting when he was just a child. First, I drew comics for myself, which were popular at that time, then I began to send them to various magazines. Thierry experimented with different genres and different styles, but when an Italian restaurant in Paris called Raffaelo asked the artist to purchase his pastel paintings, Thierry thought that classical types of painting could also be profitable - and began to develop his skills in this direction.
When Thierry was just about to enter the applied arts department in Paris, he discovered the artist Delacroix and his magnificent watercolors. How much can be expressed with these delicate colors! Immersed in experimenting with watercolors, Thierry managed to develop his own style - strong detail, romantic themes, real-life places and a special combination of light and color.
Thierry Duval has a lot of landscapes of his native Paris, especially morning scenes. As Duval himself admits, he likes that special light on the streets at this time, when the roofs are shining with rain, when buildings are still visible only as silhouettes, life on the streets is gradually reviving - markets, people, sounds from all sides, cafes. He likes to look at lonely passers-by, at birds, at boats on the river, which perfectly complement the surrounding poetry of beauty. It is these observations that Duval transfers to his paintings. It seems that Paris in his watercolors exists outside of time - the way it can be only in memories of the most beautiful moments of life.
Elishia Eligianto from Indonesia also creates her paintings using watercolors. However, her work is completely done in black and gray, they are completely different from the work of Thierry Duval. watercolors Eligianto filled with emotions, feelings and sensations, conveyed with the help of halftones and beautiful stories.
