Works of the artist Rolanda Tamayo (Roland Tamayo) are an incredible fusion of nature, technology, living beings, artificial mechanisms and a mysterious atmosphere. In these fantastic images, the author tries to find harmony in the worlds that are usually opposed to each other.
The creatures in Roland Tamayo's paintings, as a rule, are at the intersection of two worlds: natural and man-made. The author himself explains this as follows: “I see beauty both in the creations of nature and in the creations of human hands. Obviously, technology can have negative impacts, especially on the environment, but at the same time we need them. Therefore, we just need a better balance between these areas, and with the help of my imagination I am trying to create it."
It should be especially noted that Roland Tamayo is not one of those pessimistic authors who see in human activity an exclusively negative and destructive effect on the environment and call for leaving nature alone in their work. “My works are not about the fatal consequences of the confrontation between man and nature and not about the fact that the environment is getting worse and worse. I, of course, think about it, but at the same time I am not trying to oppress the audience with such ideas. If we take in essence, then in nature there are always some parallels to what a person does. Therefore, it is perfectly natural for me to combine them into one whole,”says the artist.
Roland Tamayo lives and works in Los Angeles. At the beginning of his creative career, the author was engaged in the creation of illustrations for video games, but recently has focused on a personal career. Tamayo's work is currently on display at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles.
