Of course, many cities in the world do not have their own unique face. However, this statement does not apply to Chicago at all - this metropolis is bright, beautiful and colorful! Including, thanks to such art projects as an unusual color installation of Color Jam, which appeared recently at one of the crossroads in the city center.
Rarely is anything related to transport really beautiful. At best, it is functional and at least not annoying. But, more often than not, the word "transport" is synonymous with the word "negative". However, a very unusual object has recently appeared in Chicago, which breaks all the stereotypes existing in the world regarding the transport infrastructure!
This is an installation called Color Jam by artist Jessica Stockholder. Moreover, this work is very different from everything that we have seen before under the name "installation".
Color Jam is an ordinary city intersection that Jessica Stockholder has turned into a work of art. She painted different parts of it in different colors, and even hung the corners of the houses with huge panels in the appropriate color palette.
So motorists and pedestrians, driving or passing through this intersection, found themselves inside a huge easel full of bright colors. Moreover, the transitions between flowers are carried out right in front of people - on the sidewalk, drive through, the walls of buildings.
The very same Jessica Stockholder calls the work of Color Jam "three-dimensional painting."
Jessica Stockholder's installation Color Jam is the largest piece to be presented at the Chicago Loop Alliance's contemporary art exhibition. It will be on display at an intersection in downtown Chicago until September 30th.
I must say that we have already seen a piece of fine art that closely resembles Color Jam. We are talking about Painting Reality - a manifestation of the so-called.
