If you still consider street art a dubious form of art and are convinced that the works of real masters can only be seen in museums, then you should definitely get acquainted with the work of a French author Zilda … His works, which are reminiscent of paintings from the Renaissance, or frames from the classic cinema of the 50s, can be found on the streets of many European cities, and each of them inspires and gives a touch of beauty.
Zilda is a self-taught artist. He does not paint directly on top of the walls, but creates images on paper, and only then pastes them in various places in the city. Sometimes the author chooses rather unusual places for his works, for example, a half-sunken boat. “I find it very important to stick original drawings (made on paper) on the streets. People are interested and worried about the fact that the huge amount of work spent on their creation is ultimately doomed to disappear,”says the author. Well, on the one hand, the beautiful is eternal, on the other, it is fleeting …
“It's incredibly important to be aware of the social and architectural stratification of a city, to be familiar with its streets and neighborhoods, and to see the tension in the urban environment that stimulates my new ideas,” says Zilda. According to the author, his works transform the city into an open-air museum, where a background of certain materials and in a certain color scheme is already prepared for each drawing.
