The naked female body is a favorite theme of artists, sculptors, photographers at all times. Only some authors approach this topic traditionally, realistically depicting the smoothness of lines and the perfection of forms, while others try to look at female beauty in a new way. New Nudity (originally Newnudes) is the title of a series of works by French artist Caroline Benech.
In her series of drawings, the artist explores the forms and physical structures of the body and mixes the real and the surreal. The bright colors and shades chosen by the artist add to the fiction and originality of the works of Karolina Beneš.
Being somewhere in the middle between the real world and fiction, the artist's works open the way for ideas from the world of the unconscious and, perhaps, actually give us a new understanding of long-known things.
Pictures of Caroline are not really drawings. The girl creates them digitally, and then prints them out, cuts out the parts by hand and folds them into original collages. Exceeding the aesthetic canons, Benes' New Nudity creates new harmony, complicates some anatomical parts, looks through the body and tries to express a certain sensation. Caroline's work is a look at the biological, physiological and mental dimensions through fabulous elusive filters.
