Here's how to formulate the main essence of Christianity in one installation? This can be answered by artist Tomas Gabzdil of Studio Libertiny. In his opinion, the essence of this religion can be revealed with the help of several kilograms of wax and forty thousand bees. He presented his installation "Unbearable Lightness" at the London Carpenters Workshop Gallery.
The installation "Unbearable Lightness" is a full-length human figure depicting the crucified Jesus Christ - one of the most famous religious images in the world. This figure is made of wax in the form of a huge set of honeycombs.
And forty thousand bees daily bring some honey into these combs. And after a while they are all filled with this sweet substance.
This is, according to Tomas Gabzdil, the main essence of Christianity - the daily hilarious work in order to get to the sweet Paradise, but after death. And all of this is based on the framework of Jesus Christ crucified on the cross.
Simple, visual and talented!
