Morgan Freeman, who appears in the most successful film and television projects, talks about string theory and dark matter in his television series, is in itself an integral part of the modern world. And somehow the fact that he was born only two years later than the long-gone legend, the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley, in the same state of Tennessee, where only the simplest and lowest-paid professions were prepared for a black boy … Freeman's life story is, first of all, the story of a man who knew how to dream correctly.

The first decades of the road to a dream

He was born on June 1, 1937 in the American South. Mother, Mamie Edna, was a cleaner, father, Morgan Portfield Freeman, worked as a hairdresser. Morgan, along with his brothers and sisters, was raised mainly by his mother and grandmother - the very first and most strict, as Freeman would later tell, teachers. He often ran to the cinema and from childhood dreamed of an acting career. At the age of nine, Morgan performed his first role in a school play, inspired not only by his own dreams, but also by the support of his English teacher, Leora Williams. At twelve, Freeman took part in a radio show.

The family moved frequently, eventually ending up in Chicago, Illinois. When Freeman was eighteen, he joined the US Air Force - pursuing another of his dreams - of flying. True, then it did not come true, he served as a mechanic - but after a few decades Freeman will still receive a pilot's license and buy his own plane, and then two more. After completing his military service, Freeman left for Los Angeles, where he performed college paperwork. In this city, he took acting classes, and in San Francisco in the early sixties he studied dance. In 1964, he performed in dance shows at the World's Fair in New York, where he later began auditioning for roles in Broadway plays and cameo roles in films.

He himself, however, admits that he has no illusions about the influence of cinema on the worldview of those who watch it: while a person watches the hero, he agrees with him, and after leaving the cinema, he continues to live his life with his convictions.

This image of a "god", an elder, a preacher, is formed by itself - from the calm confidence with which Freeman looks at the interlocutor, invariable politeness and friendly interest in him. The actor is not inclined to long conversations, especially about himself, in interviews he is rather laconic - the more weight is given to each thought expressed aloud, especially since Freeman's voice is unique - and this is constantly used by producers when scoring television shows. The actor himself claims that he considers himself the best singer - "in the shower and in the car."
