O women, your name is treachery! Well, okay, that's not entirely true. You are sweet, amazing and beautiful in the first place, and everything else, including treachery, in the second, and it is from the beautiful side that one of the best watercolors of our time, Steve Hanks, portrays you. Beauty, mystery and a little eroticism.
Steve Hanks is currently one of the greatest watercolor artists of our time. Prices for his drawings are from $ 150 and more. Of course, the world is full of other wonderful watercolors aficionados - for example, George Kosinski with his beautiful but simple landscapes, or Marion Bolognesi, whose work is dedicated to the mirror of the soul-eyes.
However, Steve, who paints mostly beautiful women, manages to achieve realism, be attentive to small details and use the most successful color combination. All this is quite difficult to achieve in watercolor drawings - it is not such a simple matter, although we all have probably tried to draw with it.
Steve Hanks was born into a military family in San Diego in 1949. His father was a high-ranking pilot who served in the Air Force. Nevertheless, Steve's childhood and adolescence passed very calmly and pleasantly - he played tennis and ran a surfboard on the beaches of Southern California. As he will later tell, at that time the ocean had a very big influence on him. “I felt a kind of closeness to the water when I was surfing, swimming or just touching this surface,” - recalls Steve.
He calls his style "emotional realism." He often darkens faces, not just to allow the viewer to choose the face himself, but also to bring the emotional state of the whole figure to the fore. This did not pass, of course, and beautiful strangers - faces are difficult to see. At the same time, it is quite obvious how mysterious and beautiful each watercolor is. That is, Steve Hanks achieves the desired effect.
Back lighting is another characteristic of Steve. Steve is very fond of sunlight. “Sunlight is one of my favorite topics. I am fascinated by the way he goes through things, how he fills the whole room with flowers. " He reinforces Steve's positive attitude in life and work with the words: "I really hope that my works bring people joy, comfort and insight."
