Under air show we usually understand exercises in aerobatics and drawing with a jet exhaust of celestial patterns. But it turns out that an air show can be arranged with the help of balloons - such that they leave any planes and helicopters far behind. And all because the hand of the master had a hand in the creation of these "balls", or rather, amazing flying dolls: the world famous French troupe Les plasticiens volants.
Les Plasticiens Volants is a name that does not need advertising in France: they more than once amazed the imagination of Europeans with giant flying doll-balls up to 20 meters long! The troupe was founded in 1976, and since then the number of its members has grown from two to 30. Since 1986 the theater has been based in Tarn (region in the south of France): there Les Plasticiens Volants restored an old tannery, turning it into a factory of miracles.
The troupe's masters have two constant tasks: to make flying structures and arrange with them air show … Moreover, the first stage cannot be called a craft: it is pure art. In recent years, preliminary layouts of Flying Wonders have been developed on the computer. The most difficult thing is to make air dolls without a solid plastic frame - you have to carefully calculate their shape so that it is stable.
The balloons only look airy - but in fact they weigh a lot, and it is not so easy to drive them around the city. without bumping into walls, and even control their movements through special auxiliary ropes. And yet Les Plasticiens Volants do a great job. They put on whole theatrical performances with air puppets, and over the years the texts and plot in the performances become more and more significant. Stories are taken from books ("Don Quixote"), fairy tales ("Simurg"), myths ("8th miracle"). Wonderful flying dolls, illuminated from the inside, are especially impressive at night: looking at them, one can believe in any fairy tales.
Air show Les Plasticiens Volants are looking forward to big holidays not only in France: they are going to give a little bit of miracles to all countries and major cities of the Mediterranean.
