The arts of making patchwork and quilting as similar and as different as graffiti and murals. Eileen Doughty- one of the needlewomen who managed to reach certain heights in this difficult work. Eileen says that the possibilities of the fabric are much wider than you might imagine. As well as for collage, applique work, a fabric artist cuts out details of a future painting from a wide variety of canvases, both in density and in type, color and quality, connecting, fastening, overlaying them, like layers in a graphics editor. As a result, interesting effects and tricks are obtained, which make fabric paintings unique, voluminous, "alive".
