As Luana herself says, the idea of being a helicopter pilot did not come to her by accident - her brother is also a pilot. “It always seemed to me that my brother is the coolest person on Earth because he is flying a helicopter. However, at that time Luana was studying at the university and receiving an economic education. One day, while in Australia on a student exchange program, she first got into the cockpit of a helicopter and took off into the sky. It was at that moment that Luana realized that she really wanted to become a pilot, and this was not just a temporary whim. “I started practicing in 2014 in my native Brazil. That was when I got my very first license as a helicopter pilot.”
After that, Luana moved to the United States, where she received a second, local, license. In 2017, she moved again - this time to Canada, where she completed her education with a commercial flight license. This does not mean that the girl's career was serene and she only did what she conquered new heights. Sometimes I had to make concessions with the thought of the future. For example, Luana now works at Blackcomb Helicopters in Vancouver, where she makes tour flights over the most magnificent landscapes - the very ones that she then post on her Instagram. However, to get this job, she had to work for the company on the ground for two years as ground support for pilots, content with occasional pilot jobs in other private companies.
Talking about what she likes best about her current job, Luana admits that it is a flight over the city of Whistler in Canada on the way to the ice cave. “I have always dreamed of flying over the snow. I am originally from Brazil and we have no snow there. Apparently, that's why I am drawn to him."
Speaking about her future, Luana thinks about moving to Hawaii and working on a rescue helicopter. Luana likes the idea of being truly useful in her work, and she would like not only to help people see the beauty of our planet, but also to save lives.
