Variety magazine, which is one of the leading weeklies in the United States of America that tells about the world of show business, wrote that the next Oscar ceremony could be held without a presenter. In such a message, the magazine refers to the receipt of information from informed persons.
Variety magazine reported that this development is not surprising. This year, Kevin Hart, a famous American actor who plays comedy roles, was invited to present the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts Oscars. It was only at the beginning of December 2018 that accusations of homophobia were made against this actor, after which Hart decided to abandon the role of the host of the solemn event. The reason for such accusations is called the posts found on the pages of the social network Twitter, compiled by the actor, in which he speaks out negatively about sexual minorities.
The organizers of the event hoped that the comedian would publicly apologize for his old posts and present everything as a failed joke. If this had happened, they would have turned to him again with a request to become the host of the Oscar ceremony. Hart decided to try on the role of the victim. In the early days of the new year, on the show Helen DeGeneres, who does not hide her love for women, who twice held the prestigious film awards ceremony, he focused on the fact that he had become a victim of Internet trolls. He said that he was being attacked to ruin his career.
In connection with such a difficult situation, the organizers are considering an option in which the ceremony will be held by a whole group of cultural figures. Each of them will appear on the stage of the Hollywood Dolby Theater on February 24, 2019 and announce the winner in one category or another.
It is worth remembering that the last time the prestigious film award ceremony was held without a presenter 30 years ago. That time, instead of the host's introductory monologue, the organizers decided to show a musical film that lasted 11 minutes.
