Video: 6 talented street artists who can squeeze out Banksy
2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-15 23:55
Being a street artist now and 60 years ago are completely different things. Today, such artists, provided that they have proven themselves well, are given orders even at the state level - as was the case, for example, in Gdansk or Brussels. And what can we say about the popularity of Banksy, each new work of which gets into the news. So who are these newcomers hoped for great careers in the contemporary art world?
Martin Ron (Argentina)
Most of Martin Ron's works are in his native Argentina, however, the artist has also traveled to other countries recently, and now his masterpieces can be seen in Malaysia and Australia. He mainly depicts people and uses the soft, muted colors that have become his trademark. The last job, on a rounded surface, was perhaps the biggest challenge for Martin, but he coped with it perfectly well.
Sarah Erenthal (New York)
Sara Erenthal's work is naively simple yet easily recognizable. Due to the lack of unnecessary details and capacious phrases in her works, Sarah's graffiti is well remembered. Moreover, you can see Sarah's "branded" painted girl in completely unusual circumstances, which only adds to the interest in the work of this girl. For example, her work can be seen on an abandoned mattress, on a TV set by a garbage can, on the doors of an ordinary house, or on a wall covered with a chain-link fence.
As Sarah tells about herself, she comes from an Orthodox Jewish family, and at the age of 17 she ran away from home, not wanting to get married by agreement of her parents. Since then, she has traveled constantly, taking part in various creative activities around the world.
Rocket 01 (London)
This artist prefers to be recognized by his pseudonym Rocket 01. He creates his murals in gray-blue-green tones, paying tribute to the nautical theme. His work is easily recognizable by the main characters that appear in one way or another in almost every graffiti: a girl in a helmet, a floating rabbit and a friendly badger.
Nemo's (Italy and Spain)
The works of this artist definitely cannot be confused with anything else: his specific characters - full naked wrinkled creatures - always cause some shock, sometimes even disgust, but that is why they are even better imprinted in memory. Nemo's often adds extra texture to their work by adding bits of local newspaper to flat surfaces, making the depicted wrinkles even more structured.
Toctoc (France)
Toctoc's work can be seen primarily in his native France. His characters are easily recognizable due to the specific manner in which the lower jaw is depicted. Toctoc does not create large murals, focusing on small images of modern pop culture heroes located at eye level so that passersby can easily notice these funny images.
Bondtruluv (China)
This Chinese street artist never gets help from a team, preferring to create all the work alone, no matter how large his graffiti may be. Bondtruluv is easily recognizable by its bright neon colors and a huge jumble of small details.
At one time, we also collected a selection of works by the Moscow Zoom commands, which adorned the facades of the capital's buildings with humorous sketches, the heroes of which were the characters of recognizable films and TV series, as well as other celebrities.
