Contemporary art is constantly striving to find new approaches to depicting familiar things, thereby expanding the boundaries of perception of reality. Talented artist Yang Yongliang from Shanghai researched the development of Chinese calligraphy and art and determined that, despite a thousand-year history of formation, today its traditional forms are on the verge of extinction, losing their relevance. Waters artist project titled A Bowl of Taipei - an attempt to present the familiar images of the Taiwanese capital in an unconventional way.
On the site Kulturologiya.ru we have already introduced our regular readers to the work of the extraordinary artist Yang Yongliang. His work is often pessimistic, the artist creates black and white images, which are dominated by apocalyptic moods. The Piala Taipei project, although it does not have a tragic coloring, is not distinguished by its colorfulness.
Before us are the picturesque landscapes of modern Taipei, "placed" in traditional porcelain bowls using computer technology. The images modeled by Yang Yongliang harmoniously combine the past, present and future of Chinese culture. All landscapes are imbued with tranquility and serenity: cascades of waterfalls, mountain peaks, clouds hovering over bowls, and, of course, modern high-rise buildings in Taipei, illuminated by evening lights. The artist creates an example of an amazing organic connection between nature and civilization, the unity to which humanity should strive.
