We all remember "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci, a painting depicting the scene of Christ's last supper with his disciples. This New Testament story has been repeatedly interpreted in art. Moscow artist Natalia Platonova presented her version of the "last supper" - original illustrations on the pages of a notebook.
Of course, Natalia Platonova's drawings have little in common with the biblical history. Each spread features funny characters enjoying their meal at the dinner table. Most of the ink drawings are black and white, although in some cases you can see blotches of red.
Looking closely, the audience can see that the "dinner" for these characters turned out to be not quite ordinary. Fish eat fish on a platter, a bookworm sharpens volumes of literature, and guys in bear costumes - hearts. Uncomplicated drawings provide rich "food" for thought, so be surprised. Bon Appetit!
Recall that the legendary painting by Leonardo da Vinci inspired many artists to create original creations. Among the most interesting are sculptures by Albert Shukalsky and Jason de Caires Taylor.
