Each city has its own unique look. The more blood is mixed in a person, the more interesting his facial features, the more diverse the urban architecture, the more original the portrait of the city. Talented designer and photographer Francesco Paleari created a series of works in which Milan appeared in an unusual light. "Milan Profiles" ("Profili di Milano") is an entertaining black and white photograph that combines historic buildings with portraits of ordinary Italians.
Milan's architecture is a continuous cacophony of styles and colors. Red-brick Lombard romance, early Renaissance masterpieces by Filarete and Bramante, palaces in the style of classicism - what you just can't see in the historic center of the city. Milan Cathedral, Sforzesco Castle, Duomo Square, La Scala Opera House - these and many other architectural masterpieces have long become symbols of the charming Italian city.
At the behest of Francesco Paleari, cathedrals and palaces have now become parts of unusual portraits. The master treats the camera as a tool that allows him to capture and transform certain aspects of reality. Skillful photo manipulation allows him to overcome the line between fantasy and reality. Facial features and architectural elements merge together, roofs suddenly become hairstyles or unusual headdresses.
With his works, the photographer strives to focus on the role people play in the life of the city. He is sure that love for the native land in the hearts of Italians is the guarantee of prosperity and well-being of Milan.
