The tradition of taking a thermos with you to work, on a sortie or on the road is ineradicable in a Russian person. What a pleasure it is to get homemade food at lunchtime, because what could be tastier than a proper sandwich with a jar of borscht? However, with the emergence of a huge number of canteens, cafes and restaurants, the opportunity to feel "at home" is diminishing. True, an excellent thematic institution has recently opened in Kiev - fan-bar "Bank" … The concept is simple: instead of plates, glasses and cups, they use … cans.
It would seem absurd, but the visitors are delighted. Kiev restaurateur Maxim Khramov explains the popularity of this unusual institution by the fact that each of us keeps bright childhood memories of grandmother's pickles, which could be eaten straight from cans. And, in addition to nostalgic feelings, the banks are simply convenient and functional: if you wish, you can take everything that is left of the meal with you or initially order the dishes “to go”. Of course, miracle containers with a lid are perfect for this.
The unusual fan bar has an excellent menu, but it is worth remembering that whatever you order will definitely be brought in a can, be it soup, ice cream, coffee or even a multi-layered cocktail. The room itself is also decorated in the appropriate style: empty cans are used as chandeliers, conservation has become a decoration of the bar, and the wallpaper is full of themed prints. By the way, at the entrance there is a prohibitory sign, they say, there are no cups-glasses on the territory of the bar.
The idea to open such an original bar came to mind of restaurateur Maxim Khramov and marketing expert Anton Beletsky. The institution is located at the intersection of O. Teligi and Dorogozhinskaya streets. In the future, it is planned that a whole network of similar "can" cafes will be created not only in the capital, but throughout the country.
