For many creative people coffee is not only a traditional drink to start the morning, but also the main ideological inspirer. No wonder so many creative works were created thanks to this fragrant muse: a picture of 240 kg of coffee created by Arkady Kim in Gorky Park, a mosaic of a million coffee beans from Saimir Strati, drawings with footprints from a cup of coffee, and even creatively painted mugs for hot drinks and painted cardboard cups. Japanese artist T Omoko Shintani combines two main passions - good coffee and drawing, therefore he draws most often in a popular coffee shop Starbucks, involving their signature mugs and cups in the creative process. On her website, the artist says that this is not a PR move or an advertising campaign at all, she just likes to drink coffee in this particular coffee shop, and inspiration, smelling the delicate aroma of the drink, does not keep herself waiting long. And if at first in the artist's notebook, drawings with a coffee mood appeared only occasionally, then when she more often began to indulge herself with her favorite drink, a whole collection was born Starbucks drawings … Espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte and hot chocolate in branded mugs and glasses with a logo interact wonderfully with cute, touching, and sometimes sentimental drawings that begin on the pages of Tomoko Shintani's notebook, and continue on the walls of disposable tableware, or play with ceramic mugs, which, alas, cannot be drawn on.
The artist paints with a thin liner with black ink, and her favorite subjects are the life of a little cute girl, a little cute boy, as well as their four-legged friends - a fat white cat and a funny lamb. This motley company lives its own life, doing the most common things: they study and do their homework, read books and play the violin, knit socks and scarves, fall in love, give each other gifts, go for walks, meet new people and dream a lot and with pleasure … Sometimes these stories, such as New Year's, are directly related to the design of cups in a coffee shop, and depend on the season. But basically all this is just the artist's fantasy and mood. And I must say that she is in a good mood, drawing these little sketches, otherwise they would not be so deeply saturated with positive and warmth, even when these are autumn and winter drawings.
Tomoko Shintani is about to publish a book of his wonderful illustrations, and preparations for this event are in full swing. You can see the whole series of positive, kind and warm drawings with a coffee mood on the Starbucks Drawings page. Or follow the artist on Instagram.

If you come to visit Cheeming Boey and ask the owner for water, he will definitely bring you it in a painted disposable foam cup. Well, when you get drunk, you will definitely notice that such cups are everywhere in the Boi house, because the owner is an artist, only instead of a brush he uses an ordinary black marker, and instead of a canvas - yes, yes, the surface of these same cups

Plyushkin's dream: installation of dozens of painted paper cups
What do most people do when they drink coffee? That's right, throws away a plastic or paper cup. Although, perhaps, it is not so correct. For example, the American artist Gwyneth Leach has been collecting paper cups from which she had a chance to drink coffee or tea, and paints them with funny patterns over the past few years. And then he brags about the results of his work in front of the audience

Probably, Leonardo da Vinci would be surprised if he found out, as soon as his Mona Lisa was not copied. However, the question of how to lay out her portrait from cups of coffee has not yet come up. But this is only for now
