It is no coincidence that Kazakhs have a saying: "A man should have three things: a fast horse, a faithful dog and a golden eagle." The fact is that eagle hunt - the oldest occupation, which was mastered by the Kazakhs living in the west of Mongolia. Photographer Asher Svidensky decided to capture the fearless hunters who tamed these proud birds, and instead met an adorable 13-year-old who also mastered the craft.
In search of brave hunters, 24-year-old Esher Svidenski went to the Mongolian city of Ulgiy. It is here that Kazakh families live, in which the traditions of eagle hunting are passed on from generation to generation. The photographer talked a lot with the locals who use birds to hunt foxes and wolves. Escher Svedenski managed not only to observe how the golden eagles are swiftly sweeping away after their prey, but also to attend several classes at which the fathers of the family taught their sons this difficult craft.
In the beginning, Escher Swiedenski filmed 13-year-old boys who bravely trained under the guidance of their fathers. Imagine the photographer's surprise when, next to the guys, he saw their young huntress of the same age. Ashol Pan, the daughter of an experienced hunter, first held an eagle in her hands, but was not at all afraid of him. “She fearlessly stretched out her hand and happily stroked the bird,” Asher Swidenski shared his impressions.
Stunning photographs by Escher Svedenski show that eagle hunting is still in demand among the Kazakhs, as it was many millennia ago. In addition, it ceases to be an exclusively male occupation. So, Eshol Peng's father willingly says that he had thoughts of training his daughter for a long time. In her, he saw much greater potential than in his son. True, he decided to let his daughter near the eagle only after she herself expressed a desire to become a hunter. Peng's father expresses his sincere hope that by next year she will gain experience and be able to adequately perform at the eagle hunting festival, taking his own place.

And the history of the Cossacks itself, reflected in the work of classical artists and contemporaries, is very unique and interesting
