English amateur artist Tony Plant believes that his hobby - drawing in the sand - gives "incomparable creative freedom." Plant spends more than one hour of time detailing a beautiful pattern. He is not at all embarrassed by the fact that the drawing will be irretrievably lost during the next high tide.
For his creative work, a native of Newquie, Cornwell County, does not need anything but enthusiasm and a broomstick in his hands - with the help of the latter, Plant draws his designs. Also, of course, you need a beautiful sandy coast. The artist himself admits that one of the main advantages of his hobby is the opportunity to travel to the "heavenly places" of the United Kingdom.
Tony Plant is 50 years old, he is the father of two children, and he is engaged in art exclusively in his spare time. It does not bring him money, but it allows him to express himself and gives Plant's imagination the opportunity to "look beyond the boundaries of the unknown."
Many contemporary creators turn to sand as an unusual, but still material for creating art objects. Ukrainian artist Ksenia Simonova, like Plant, paints pictures - true, figurative, but Calvin Seibert erects original sculptures - a kind of "sand castles". Tony Plant has his own reasons for this: the artist is attracted by the "unity between man and landscape." This unique experience pushes him to create more and more drawings, and with the help of photo documentation, viewers from all over the world can share it.
Everyone has tried beach construction, erect sand castles and other sand sculptures of varying degrees of difficulty on the seashore. Therefore, everyone knows how thankless this work is, because in a few hours only memories and a few photos on the memory card of your phone or camera will remain from the figure. However, the artist and sculptor Calvin Seibert is not intimidated by the future of his work, and for six years in a row he has been decorating the sandy beach
Along with the LEGO constructor, ordinary river or sea sand is a versatile material for the artist, with which you can create literally anything your heart desires. This is what the authors who create sand sculptures use. One of the festivals for them was recently held in England. And he was dedicated to pop culture, namely, Hollywood cinema
Probably every child knows that there are no two identical snowflakes in the world (and "Culturology" talked about snow under a microscope in Kenneth Libbrecht's photo project). But other micro-objects are no less amazing. A series of shots by American Gary Greenberg shows ordinary grains of sand in all their glory. If you look very closely, armed with special equipment, it turns out that we are trampling the most beautiful stones and do not even notice it
British sculptor Tony Cragg is known for using not heavy bronze, marble or stone for his works, but light and simple materials that are always at hand - or underfoot. So, we already wrote about his plastic installations once, and the sculptures, which will be discussed today, are also made of plastic, but in the form of dice
Until last year, the Ukrainian artist Ksenia Simonova was an unknown graphic artist living in the resort town of Evpatoria. But at the competition "Ukraine Got Talent", where Ksenia took part in the past 2009, the world-wide fame and wealth came to the girl. After all, it was she who became the winner of this competition and the owner of the prize of a million dollars. That is how much the talent to create sand paintings and to perform whole performances in front of many thousands of people costs
