Everyone has tried beach construction, erect sand castles and other sand sculptures of varying degrees of difficulty on the seashore. Therefore, everyone knows how thankless this work is, because in a few hours only memories and a few photos on the memory card of your phone or camera will remain from the figure. However, an artist and a sculptor Calvin Seibert is not afraid of such a future of his work, and for six years in a row he has been decorating sandy beaches with amazing geometric sculptures as futuristic sand castlesworthy of the majesty of the beach queen herself. Armed with only a plastic bucket and a few scoops from a hardware store, Calvin Seibert disappears on the seashore for up to six weeks a year. From loose and loose material, he builds towers and fortresses, which look so solid and strong that they seem to be made of concrete. However, Seibert's buildings also differ from traditional sandcastles in their modernity, even futurism, as if they were designed by Le Corbusier, Zaha Hadid, or their talented followers. At the heart of each sculpture of the artist are cubes, cylinders, spheres and hemispheres, pyramids and parallelepipeds, which at first glance seem to be a chaotic jumble of geometric shapes, but in fact, clear outlines of modern castles emerge from this chaos, which look so strange among algae, shells and seagulls on a deserted beach …
When the sculptor chooses a beach for his new sand masterpiece, he spends six weeks in a row exactly there, on the coast, not moving from place to place, so as not to frighten off the muse and the corresponding mood. He says that this method has been tested over the years, since constant movement negatively affects his creativity, does not allow him to focus on work, and forces him to waste a lot of energy and creative energy. Calvin Seiberg loves to experiment, a lot of new ideas are spinning in his head, which he immediately brings to life, and even if not everything turns out the way he imagined it, the artist does not despair and tries again and again to achieve the desired result. Even if it did not work out on this beach, it means that on the other one it will certainly work out.
Of course, the artist also has to face insurmountable difficulties, such as unfavorable weather conditions, or related problems. For example, he once had to abandon the project, since insects chose the beach he had chosen, and it turned out to be impossible to work with such neighbors. Having spent many tens of hours building another sand castle for the modern Little Mermaid, Calvin Seiberg is not upset that after a few days his creation will turn into sand again. As a keepsake, he retains photographs of all the sculptures ever created on the sea coasts, and you can see them on the artist's creative page.
