It is believed that any shade can be obtained by the desired combination of red, green and blue colors, which is proved by the old, CRT TVs. It was this effect that the Franco-Venezuelan artist decided to use in his work. Carlos Cruz-Diezwho created installation Chromosaturation … In it, he tried to give the world new colors that were not inherent in him.
Installation Chromosaturation is a whole habitat - a multi-room space, quite suitable for life in it. If, of course, a person who has got inside is ready to perceive the world from an extraordinary perspective.
After all, the author of this installation created a special lighting inside it, consisting of red, green and blue elements, as well as their combinations. Thus, Carlos Cruz-Diez wanted to illustrate the statement that any color can be created from the three mentioned components. And in doing so, he decided to show that the world does not have to be what it is.
It is possible and necessary to change the world, including with the help of color. After all, this is a powerful tool that can strongly influence the perception of things and even the mood of a person. And the installation Chromosaturation is a clear confirmation of this (as well as the work of Olafur Eliasson).
Moreover, according to the idea of Carlos Cruz-Diez, inside this installation, not only the rooms themselves and the furnishings in them change their color, but also the visitors themselves - from skin, eyes, hair, clothes. Moreover, the artist creates a special, autonomous world, an aesthetic Universe, subject to alternative color laws, which were developed by the author of Chromosaturation.
Carlos Cruz-Diez's installation Chromosaturation is available for viewing until December 16, 2012 at the Musee en Herbe in Paris, after which it will move to Mexico City to the Museo universitario arte contemporaneo (MUAC), where it will be exhibited until February 10, 2013.
