Ludwig Feuerbach, admiring the beauty of flowers, said that "there is more life in the rapidly withering petals of a flower than in heavy thousand-year-old blocks of granite." Withering is almost the only thing that flowers cannot forgive Tatiana Yanishevskaya … Cherishing the dream of not dying, the Rhode Island artist creates knitted flowers.

Flowers of Tatiana Yanishevskaya, as expected, can be found in the botanical garden. It is there in Brooklyn that an exhibition entitled "Knit, Purl, Sow" takes place until January 22nd. Tatyana's passion for botany is not accidental: she studied biology at Brown University and is seriously interested in plant life. Drawing knowledge from textbooks and observing flowers in greenhouses, she realized that it was the plants that inspired her to be creative.

The exhibition features 19 works by Tatiana Yanishevskaya, among which you can see knitted flowers and vegetables. For a long time, the artist exhibited her creations only on the Internet, until they were seen by Susan Pell, the director of the botanical garden. She liked the crocheted plants so much, they were made with such anatomical precision that Susan Pell contacted Tatiana and invited her to organize a solo exhibition. It was decided to present the work in January, since many people associate knitwear with warmth and comfort in cold winter weather.

By the way, Tatyana Yanishevskaya is not the only artist who came up with the idea of creating knitted plants. In craftsmanship, designers Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings are not inferior to her, who jointly create wonderful knitted vegetables.
