The world of flowers and plants is amazing and diverse. Delicate, fragrant, colorful, they can grow on bare rocks, and in sands, and in a swamp, decorating the earth, water, stones, asphalt and even concrete slabs. However, artificial plants can be no less picturesque, especially if talented artists and sculptors have had a hand in them. This experimental installation of ceramic flowers was created by Norwegian designers, giving it the name Flora Metamorphicae (Metamorphoses of vegetation) … The project was born more than 5 years ago in the form of a small flower bed of hundreds of ceramic plants, and today it has about 4 thousand flowers. Contrary to expectations, sculptors - Kari Osen, Lippa Dalen, Siri Hoskjold, Bjerg Hougen, Odhil Rypdal and Eli Weim - did not copy the original flowers at all, but modeled original plants from clay, invented literally on the go. The only requirement for them is a wide stem, which is the "leg" of the ceramic product. Subsequently, all the flowers sculpted, kilned in a kiln and covered with bright glaze have repeatedly participated in performances and exhibitions, turning halls, offices, courtyards, gardens and even cellars into real seas, rivers and lakes of flowers.
Like the process of creating flowers, laying out installations for project participants is always an improvisation, impromptu. The sculptors claim that the flowers themselves "show" them which compositions should be created and on what scale. On the whole, they perceive their experimental installations as playing with space and form, and each time unexpected. So, at one time they decorated parks and forest glades, abandoned cellars and buildings with ceramic flowers, and even in the shallow waters of Norwegian rivers, flower arrangements from this creative team appear from time to time.
An art project called Somewhere Else very soon, from September 19 to November 18, will take its place in the exhibition hall of the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts in Michigan.

A whole sea of flowers
At first glance, it looks like computer graphics, photomontage or an oil painting. However, in reality, the artist who created the multi-colored canvases is nature. Nature and hundreds of people who helped nature fulfill its mission. And if we imagine that what we see in the photographs are paintings, it should be written on them "Nature. Field. Tulips"
