All in all, a beard is a really tall style. That is why the harsh Nordic men are going to World championship in a Norwegian town Trondheim: a kind of beauty contest among the carriers of the most wonderful mustache and beard on the planet.
World Mustache and Beard Championship took place in Trondheim last weekend, May 14-15. This year, 150 people from 15 countries gathered at the Prinsen Hotell. This unusual competition is held every two years, and you probably can't say about its participants that they are " yourself with a mustache"- rather" themselves with mustache. "However, the main quality beards and mustaches at this competition, unlike most similar states, it becomes their the beauty … Some unkempt record holder with a 10-meter long beard has no chance here: facial hair is seen here as a continuation of the entire human appearance.
Biennale participants compete in 17 nominations - from small goatees and loose sideburns to Hungarian mustache and Chinese thin antennae; wide Garibaldian beards and neat, like an English lawn, Victorian - each style has its own connoisseurs, and usually dressed in appropriate outfits: some in a gentleman's tailcoat, some in the clothes of a German Bauer, and some in a lush baroque suit. After all history of beards so varied! By the way, our ancestors also made a significant contribution to the tradition, caring for and nurturing their beards (for the abuse of which 400 years ago in Russia they paid a fine, only three times less than for murder). Looking at some of the championship participants, it even seems that their amazing beards are false; but this is certainly not the case.
This year's championship was won by the 47-year-old German hairdresser Elmar Weiser, who surprised everyone with his original beard sculpture … Weiser, thanks to his stylist skills and creative imagination, takes away the "gold" for the third time - but there is no limit to perfection, and next time his competitors will surely create something incredible from their beards and mustaches.
