When it’s late autumn at best, it’s a sin not to dream of blue and green. Another symbol of spring - cherry blossoms - it turns out that not only the Japanese love to contemplate. Tom Price, a man obsessed with artificial materials, presented his version of the spring revival of life. Despite the fact that the cherry blossoms are assembled from tubes and wires, they not only look good, but also give an openwork shade.
38-year-old sculptor Tom Price has seen sakura bloom more than once and decided to create his own cherry installation. What attracts people to flowering trees? It's not just about the purity and tenderness that it embodies. It is human nature to appreciate things that he risks losing, and cherry blossoms, alas, are not eternal.
The installation was conceived not only to travel back to spring and draw the public's attention to the miraculous trees. Tom Price's creation is intended to show the wide artistic possibilities of recycled plastic, and at the same time to strike a spark of irony. If in nature cherries quickly fade, then plastic specimens can delight the eye for a long time: this material decomposes for decades.
