For many of us, childhood memories, among other things, are associated with beautiful bright books, which we picked up more in order to see the pictures, and not to read. Who painted all this bright miracle? There are quite a few artists of this kind. Lorena Alvarez from Colombia is one of them. Her work shows how important it is to remain a child at heart.
Lorena Alvarez is a freelance illustrator. She combines traditional techniques, computer work and photography. Her target audience is children, but her works cannot but be liked by adults, because everything that is kind, light and cute is liked not only by children. Speaking about creativity for children, I never tire of remembering the Polish girl Irisz Agocs and her naive children's drawings. Lorena Alvarez works in the same direction. Many of her works are used in the design of children's books, shops, magazines.
Her contribution to the happy childhood of many toddlers is not limited to illustrations: she herself makes magnificent plush toys and designs T-shirts. Immediately visible. That she loves children - the toys are simply great, with a bunch of small details, very beautiful and bright. “I love experimenting with color, composition and theme when creating toys,” the artist writes on her blog. And this is true for all her work. Take at least one of her most unusual works - a ticket to a Metallica concert, which depicts a funny young informal. Judging by the artist's interest in heavy music and the guitar, on the ticket is herself, more precisely, her alter ego.
