Vincent Francisco Navarro Is an extraordinary Filipino artist from the city of Baguio, who uses coffee grounds as paint for his portraits. The guy gets special material by recycling what remains at the bottom of a cup of brewed coffee.
Like most contemporary artists, Vincent pursues, first of all, environmental goals: about 300 tons of garbage are thrown in Baguio every year, and the problem of its storage and disposal is one of the most pressing for the city. Vincent Navarro, 21, is an ecologist by profession, but he decided to draw public attention to waste recycling with the help of an extraordinary art project - coffee portraits.
After a series of studies, Vincent learned how to get paint from the remains of ground coffee, which is constantly thrown away by lovers of this drink. In such an unusual way, the talented guy showed how you can reuse seemingly useless material for creative purposes. For ten months he painted portraits of coffee farmers in the Benguet and Cordillera regions. Each painting is a testament to how much effort people put into growing coffee beans. The portraits painted by Vincent Navarro are distinguished by a realistic manner and deep psychologicalism.
Of course, Vincent Navarro is not the only coffee maker. For example, we have already introduced the readers of the site Kulturologiya. Ru to the paintings of the talented self-taught artist Alexander Wald from Ukraine.
