In today's selection of photos from National Geographic - a traditional photo trip around the exceptionally beautiful corners of our planet. Undoubtedly, it is better to admire all these delights with your own eyes, but, as they say, it is better to see once, even if for a start in photographs.
25th of April
A beautiful spring day in the Sandemar Nature Reserve, near Stockholm, near the Baltic Sea, gave photographer Dick Eriksson a shot of a huge oak tree. More precisely, its shadow, covering the delicate green grass from the sun's rays.

In the background are photographs of Christian Ziegler - the signal lights of cars crossing the Panama Canal, and the foreground is completely occupied by a praying mantis, waiting, or rather, tracking insects in the night for dinner.

Climber Kate Rutherford climbs the sheer cliff of North America's highest waterfall, Yosmith Falls, on a route called the Freestone. A water-polished rock gives climbers extremely clues, so the route is considered one of the most dangerous. But this also attracts experienced climbers to Yosmith Falls. Photo by Jimmy Chin.

While exploring a pine forest in North Carolina, the author of the photo, Jared Skye, stumbled upon a water muzzle that did not miss the opportunity to open its jaws to a random passerby.
April 29
Lethbridge Viaduct is the largest railway structure in Canada. The height of the building is about 100 meters with a total length of 1600 meters. Foggy morning, viaduct, photo by Travis Nykamp.

Low clouds in the Alpine valleys of northern Italy, south of Lake Como, resemble a feather bed. The layer of clouds is so dense that they almost completely hide the valley, and the lights below, coupled with the moonlight above, create such a magical, even magical picture.
May 01
The famous Brooklyn Bridge, taken with the equally famous "camera", the camera obscura looks like it is an old postcard. Experimenting with color and mood, as well as texture and style, was clearly a success. Photo courtesy of the Abelardo Morrell and Bonnie Benrubi Gallery.
