Surely many of you still have eggs in the refrigerator after Easter. Maybe boiled, and maybe raw too. It's not for me to tell you what dishes can be made from eggs, but I know who can turn eggs into something more interesting than scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs or "into a bag". For example, paintings from eggshells are created by the Muscovite Lyuba, and lace sculptures from the same shells are created by the artist Gary LeMaster. However, he is not the only one who turns eggs into works of art in this unusual way. Another one literally steps on his heels " egg sculptor" by the name Brian Baity … Carefully and carefully, gently and affectionately, the "filling" is first blown out of the egg, the shell is thoroughly dried, the outline of the pattern that will be cut out of the shell is applied with a pencil - and the master gets down to business. Probably, he has to work, holding his breath, so that his hand with a device resembling a drill does not tremble, so as not to sneeze or cough at the most crucial moment. Otherwise, long hours of painstaking work will go down the drain.
It is hard to imagine how many kilograms of shells Brian Benti used up on his way to the skill of carving openwork sculptures from eggs. But now even the most complex pattern is on his shoulder. And so that those who doubt that they see exactly the shell in front of them, and not Brian Benti, the master conducts demonstration performances, sebto, master classes.
Of course, Brian Benti and Gary LeMaster are not the only eggshell carvers. A large selection of works by these and other artists can be seen in this gallery.
