“The eternal and most serious threat for men is a woman - the concentration of all the misfortunes that can befall the representatives of the stronger sex. It's all the fault of what's between her legs. Therefore, it must be cut out, - says the Egyptian politician Nasser al Shaker (Nasser al shaker), who achieved the legalization of circumcision of girls.
This truly barbaric tradition has been practiced by different peoples for many centuries. Several hundred thousand girls all over the world are subjected to the brutal rite of passage every year. To a Reuters reporter Siegfried modola I managed to visit a similar ritual in the Kenyan Pokot tribe and took several photographs showing all the torments that the girls had to go through.
It is in Kenya that the circumcision of minors is prohibited by law. Nevertheless, the tribes do not abandon this tradition, since it is believed that a circumcised girl is no longer dangerous and will be able to marry.
The ceremony takes place in a dwelling or just in front of the entire community. The clitoris or labia is cut off. The unsanitary conditions accompanying the ritual are terrifying. Girls can be trimmed with scissors, blades, and sometimes broken glass. Needless to say, the overwhelming majority of those who have passed the ceremony receive blood poisoning, which is often fatal.
Many international organizations are struggling with this "entry into adulthood", but more often unsuccessfully. This trend is observed not only in the backward tribes, as is commonly believed, but also in the most developed countries of Europe. Only circumcision is carried out not on ordinary stones, but in expensive private clinics. However, this does not change the barbaric essence of this terrible rite.
In addition to the initiation ceremony, women from different countries passed through the most severe tests, if only to comply with the canons of the beauty of their people.
