This extremely cute fat cat is called Bazooka. He is five years old - a respectable age for a cat and his life story is quite amazing. Bazooka ended up in an orphanage after his master died. He fed the poor animal to an incredible 16 kilograms! And all because the unfortunate man suffered from dementia and filled Bazooka's bowl every time he noticed that it was empty, forgetting that he had already fed him. How the life of Bazooka was changed by one fateful meeting - further in the review.
After the death of the owner, Bazooka arrived at the orphanage. The shelter staff were amazed at its size. It took two people to carry the cat and it was not easy for them. Bazooka needed medical attention. After all, such a huge weight had a very negative effect on his health and behavior. Doctors have put together a special weight loss program for the fat cat to make him healthier, happier, and able to do all the usual things that cats do.
After spending some time at the orphanage, Bazuka went to his new home. Robin Anderson is a healthy lifestyle fan, athlete and marathon runner. She fell in love with Bazooka at first sight. In order to pick up the cat, Robin and her entire family even went through a special training course. In order to monitor Bazooka's health and help him lose extra pounds, the new foster family was thoroughly prepared.
Robin is very kind to Bazooka. She even came up with a new name for him - August. So she named the cat after the Roman military leader and great statesman, who was the first emperor of the Roman Empire. The new owner believes that such a name is more suitable for such a respectable cat. Anderson has already achieved significant success with her love and care. He began to lose weight and even already, albeit with difficulty, but can climb up the stairs in his new home.
At the very beginning, of course, this was not the case. When a week has passed since the adoption of the cat, he even put on a pound of weight. But then the matter, albeit slowly, but surely went. The new owner brings the cat every two weeks for a medical examination. When asked what is the hardest part about caring for August, Robin replies with a laugh: “The hardest part is getting him to the car. My hands just fall off of him!"
Robin devotes a significant part of her life to intense sports training. Thanks to this, she is in great shape. She really hopes to inspire August with her example.
Anderson explains his passion for sports: “Now I am a long-distance runner. Last November I ran my first marathon. Five years ago, doctors diagnosed me with diabetes. They recommended that I lose weight. I recovered a lot from taking steroids to treat skin conditions. After I lost weight, my sugar returned to normal and diabetes is no longer a threat to my life. I run three kilometers twice a week. On weekends, I try to run an average of five to ten kilometers. I ran a half marathon last weekend. And I have about thirty more planned for this year."
Robin also has a dog, his name is King. She admits that she dreams of running a marathon with her dog. Anderson says that everyone has to move, because movement is life.
August is slowly getting used to his new place of residence, to the owner, her family and their pet King. Robin describes the cat as a "quiet, preppy bunny" who loves to scratch. The family is trying to do everything so that August gets comfortable as soon as possible and feels as comfortable as possible in their house. Robin touches August's purr, she calls it her favorite trait in cats and jokes that the cat makes it louder than the tractor.
All this might not have happened if not for one tragic event in Robin's life. Her beloved Maine Coon cat, Whiskey, passed away in August. She grieved very much, because he was a member of the family for her. In order to distract herself from her worries, Anderson joined the thematic community on Facebook, where people helped save Maine Coons from abuse, from diseases, and find a new home for animals.
Robin wanted to take some Maine Coon to her family. But all the time it turned out that reports of animals in need of help came from places thousands of kilometers from the area where Anderson lives. And just recently, Robin saw in the group information that Bazooka was being transported from one state to another. Just not far from them. She looked at photographs where a young woman was trying to hold the cat in her arms. She had a very eloquent expression on her face. Robin says that after seeing this photo, she realized that she and Bazooka were just made for each other.
Plus, Robin Anderson's lifestyle could help the cat with his obesity problems. In addition, the woman believes that they, redheads, should stick together. Robin was lucky to become the first in line for adoption, since by her arrival at the orphanage, the documents for Bazooka were only in the process of processing.
They are still looking at each other, but Robin is sure that in the very near future they are destined to become one big happy family. August will restore his injured health and become the happiest cat in the world. We can only wish good luck to the amazing cat and his new family, so that all their hopes come true.
