If there is a gun on the wall, then we have in front of us either a well-thought-out play, or the cover of a book about the owners of firearms toys. Lindsay McCrum's collection of photographs is titled "Chicks with Guns". The ancient goddess Artemis, she is Diana, was an excellent hunter. Modern women with weapons in their hands also look good. The creative photo project tells that rumors about female peacefulness are greatly exaggerated.

Photographer Lindsay McCrum lives in two houses: in New York and California. Although she studied painting at Yale University and the Art Institute in San Francisco, for the past 8 years, Lindsay McCrum has completely switched to photography. And, I must say, not without success: her exhibitions are held in galleries in the USA and Europe, and in October the first thematic collection of photographs will be published - a book about our armed contemporaries.

Lindsay McCrum's collection of photographs claims to be a serious cultural study. To find out why women need weapons, the American traveled to the United States. During her wanderings, she had seen enough of collection and working samples, and also met hunters, police officers and sportswomen, whom this weapon serves and pleases the eye. We will be glad too.

The women in the photographs look great with weapons, although these original photographs still make it somehow uncomfortable. Probably, the whole point is in gender stereotypes: is it more appropriate for beautiful ladies to be scared and cover their ears at the sound of a shot? Not everyone. Ladies, captured in color and black and white images of Lindsay McCrum, look quite natural.

No feigned belligerence, only calm self-confidence - which means that these women can really stand up for themselves. And there are thousands of them. No - millions. The book reports that there are 15-20 million gun owners in the United States alone. Some of them need it for work, some for self-defense. Different living conditions and different destinies are united by one thing - the presence of a trunk for solving current problems.
