Everyone treats death in their own way: someone is afraid of it, someone is looking for it, and someone is not at all averse to joking on this topic. 48 year old Anto Wickham A (nto Wickham) - a man in full bloom. He "became famous" for the fact that he decided in advance to make coffinin which he wants to be buried. Its domina is shaped like a bottle of the legendary Jack Daniels whiskey, and costs about $ 50,000.
Anto Wickham is a soldier who served in the Royal Regiment of Ireland for 22 years, fought in Iraq and buried eight comrades during the fighting. He had a lot of reasons to think about death, so he firmly decided that he wanted to leave in a special way, so that during the funeral there would be a holiday, and not mourning. Anto recalls how he held a 28-day defense in Iraq in February 2007, during which time their part was attacked 74 times, everyone was exhausted by the incessant fire from heavy artillery, bombs were exploding everywhere.
Anto has six children, possibly caring for them, and he planned a "themed" funeral. Such an unusual idea arose by chance: once, while on leave, he saw on TV a story about the Crazy Coffins company, which specializes in the manufacture of original coffins. Anto had no doubt that the domina would resemble a bottle of whiskey, because this is his favorite drink.
John Gill, owner of Crazy Coffins, says that this was the most difficult order in their practice, as the bottle shape had many edges that needed to be cut precisely. The creation of an authentic "label" also took a lot of time. In total, it took several months of work, but there was nowhere to rush, fortunately.
Now Anto Wickham works in Afghanistan as a private security guard, he specially flew home to assess the result. The customer was satisfied with the work. He admits that at first it was unusual, but then he even agreed to take some photos. By the way, he has other ideas for his own funeral: to install the iPad solar panels on the tombstone and leave a video message to the descendants. As a funeral march, he prefers the song "My Way" by British pan-rocker Sid Vicious.
Of course, Anto Wickham's plans did not please the relatives too much, but his friends were delighted.
