Paint wall graffiti not necessarily with cans of paint, as the artist does under the pseudonym Hr.v. Bias, chalk, like Philippe Baudelocque, or combine drawings with applique, like the French author Monsieur Qui. Some are content with a spray with a powerful pressure of water, which replaces all of the above tools for creativity. This is how the Belgian author paints his graffiti on the city walls. Stefaan De Croock … The public knows Stefan de Croc under a pseudonym Strook, because this is how he signs his works, with which he has repeatedly participated in expositions of the STUK art center in the Belgian city of Leuven. There, not far from the art center, he found an ideal wall for painting with water, because his only requirement for a "canvas" is the presence of moss on it.
With a powerful jet of water, the artist "draws" patterns and ornaments, letters, numbers and other pictures, washing vegetation from the mossy wall. He does not need a knife, or garden scissors, or paints and crayons - only "natural" tools that cost almost nothing. Several days of work - and the facade of the gallery was decorated with a "living" fresco of impressive scale.
By the way, the huge water graffiti was painted without a single sketch, outline or preliminary preparation. Pure improvisation, and in the literal sense of the word. And what is curious is that this work of Stefaan De Croock can be called not only "alive", but also green, moreover, the artist should never be accused of vandalism. The wall was not damaged, the city landscape was not damaged, and the facade of the STUK art center began to look much more picturesque, as befits a building that is directly related to contemporary art, creativity and creativity.
