There are hotels, the administration of which does not know the word "renovation". And there are hotels where everything is always new. The latter includes an ice house in the Canadian city of Quebec: with the arrival of spring, the Hotel De Glace building melts and has to be rebuilt every year. Those wishing to live in a unique place with a unique design and indoor temperatures from -3 ° C to -5 ° C can rent a room from January 6 to March 25 next year.
This year the unusual hotel celebrates its 10th anniversary. Construction is in full swing here every year: 60 workers build a new ice house in just one month. 15 thousand tons of snow and 500 thousand tons of ice are spent on work. One meter thick walls with a tail maintain a constant temperature in the premises.
There are 36 rooms in this wonderful hotel. Although all the furniture in the ice house is made of what, you know what, hardly anyone will freeze to a bed or an armchair: they are covered with reindeer skins, and they have to sleep on a comfortable mattress, and even in a sleeping bag for polar explorers, in which people can withstand temperatures up to -30 ° C. In order to be guaranteed not to freeze, guests can go to the sauna before going to bed.
