We have already written about how last year flash mob artists from Improv Everywhere gathered hundreds of beachgoers in evening dresses. Just like Star Wars on the Subway, this event goes annually: Last weekend, Improv Everywhere founder Charlie Todd once again threw the call to get together for the beach party, Black Tie Beach 2011. And he was heard.
"Black Tie Beach" means "tuxedo beach" - in fact, the assembled men were dressed in strict black suits, and the women in expensive ball gowns. But no one was even going to behave as befits a dinner party: mobbers preferred building sandy cakes to building business relationships, salty sea spray to expensive wines, and inflatable toys to elegant secular flirting.
Instead of digging under other people's secrets, mobbers buried each other in the sand up to the bow tie, and also played "sea unicorn fights": this is when two business people climb onto the shoulders of another couple and, pushing, try to soak each other … no, not a reputation and pants.
Unusual beach-goers in outfits for the evening party, like last time, attracted more than one thousand surprised looks. But it is rather necessary to be surprised by those who prefer the boredom of official evenings and parties to casual fun. Almost all Improv Everywhere events are based on a social message; in this case, it is a mockery of those who do not get out of the tuxedo. Charlie Todd has already declared the Beach Party annual. Maybe soon the movement will become international as well?
