26-year-old Australian artist Courtney Brims is an interior designer by profession, but she has been drawing fabulous pencil drawings for three years now. The world created by the artist is like a dream: here you have people lost in time and space, and strange creatures like living balls on thin legs, and fabulous animals. And what is interesting - they are all interconnected: branches with young foliage sprout from objects and people, strands of hair are intertwined with piano keys and yarn from which fluffy animals are made.

Talented artist Courtney Brims lives in the Australian city of Brisbane. She says she can't paint without music and watches TV too often, while at the same time she's into the Victorian era and chilling ghost stories. She knows how to combine unexpected things not only in life, but also in creativity, rightly believing that on paper it is possible to complete what is lacking in the world.

Although Courtney Brims began drawing relatively recently - only three years ago, her fabulous drawings have already visited galleries in Sydney, Los Angeles and, of course, her native Brisbane. In the near future, the young artist is going to conquer the Foggy Albion and thus significantly expand the still modest geography of exhibitions. And in the future … in the future, she dreams of working with Hayao Miyazaki and Tim Burton.

The ideas of Courtney Brims' fairytale drawings do not crystallize immediately. Anything can serve as an impetus for reflection (now, for example, the artist is fond of silent films, old photography and the inhabitants of the deep sea). Then the thought bends this way and that - often it takes a whole week for this stage. In case of mental congestion, the main thing is to get off the table and look for inspiration elsewhere.

Despite the fact that Courtney Brims often portrays people, she has never painted self-portraits and does not like to look at herself in the mirror for a long time. It is much more interesting for a talented artist to learn and invent something new. If you believe in yourself, nothing is impossible, says the author of the fairy-tale drawings. And doubting yourself is as easy as shelling pears: the art scene is large and powerful, and there are always many wonderful works by other artists - no less dreamy.
